ABOUT ME

Hi! I’m an opera singer who became an arts administrator to change the landscape of live theatre production. As everyone in the field is coming to realize, entertainment is rife with inequities and a legacy of abuse. I found that as a performer, I didn’t have the tools to advocate for myself and other artists. I shifted into roles “behind the table” in an effort to make art more equitable and representative of my community. My philosophy centers on challenging long held traditions in live entertainment, both in content and in process.

    Humanity

We’re all just people here. Let’s make something cool together and enjoy the ride while we do.

About My Life

I was born in Kansas City, MO and moved to Chicago in 2015 after completing my Masters in Voice and Opera from UMKC. I live with my husband Matt and our two cats Kuno and Maya in Albany Park. I’m a Gemini and a Celiac, so I love good gluten free food and am constantly talking about it. In addition to being a singer, I also paint, crochet, and am an avid fantasy reader. Because I can’t seem to stay still, I’m also First Aid Certified, hold a certificate in Nonprofit Executive Leadership, and am a Sexual Assault Crisis Advocate with Resilience Chicago.
